At Salisbury we take the role of the Coach very seriously. Not only because of the importance in developing our rugby players and in turn supporting the broader game, but also because our coaches are responsible for the safety and welfare of all players under their charge.
The clubs philosophy is a simple one. “We want to create an environment which guarantees that the girls and boys who play rugby at Salisbury RFC enjoy their time at our club and achieve their potential“. We believe the most effective way to ensure this is to have the best possible coaches and assistants in place.
We are, in support of our coaches and their assistants, continually developing our CPD program to ensure that they and their assistants have a formalized and structured pathway to ensure their skills match the requirements of their age group players.
My job as Club Coaching Coordinator (CCC) is to support and facilitate the development of our coaches so as to ensure players of all ages get the best possible opportunity to maximize their potential while playing and training in a challenging but enjoyable environment. To me there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a player develop to achieve their potential or witnessing a team you have coached achieve success.
