Walking Rugby Hosted a Number of Visitors 19th November 2022

The Spitfires and Bustards were out again hosting teams from Guildfordians, Fordingbridge, Trowbridge and Amesbury
Over 70 players converged on Castle Road to play a series of games ahead of the England/New Zealand match. The Spitfires were in our home Green strip, whilst The Bustards played in the change colours of Blue & Gold.
We will address the elephant in the room immediately: our inability to record scores !. No-one kept a record of the Salisbury tries, but we have improved and can provide the full scorecard below. Think we'll score ourselves 6 out of 10 for that.
Trowbridge played their very first games when we hosted them back in October and their improvement was here for all to see, whilst Guildfordians have been regular and popular opponents at the Kingswood festival. Completing the line-up were local neighbours Amesbury and Fordingbridge, who impressed throughout the game schedule.
Playing on Saturdays is proving very popular so we will continue the format when there are Saturdays free of Senior Mens Rugby. Look out for the next date ahead of the Wales/England 6 Nations fixture on 25th February 2023.
A big thank-you to referees Andy Reed and Ben O'Neill. Your efforts were much appreciated, And yes, Mr Pickering makes exceedlingly good flapjacks.
AND FINALLY we got to see Tonger in action...............................................................>>>>>>>>>>>>
