Aerial photo presentation

11th. February 2023: Alistair Bridle presented an aerial photo of the club from 1988
Alistair, a former BWS student and player for SRFC Colts and 2nd XV 1978-83, became Flight Lieutenant RAF Falcons Parachute Display 1986/1988 Team Leader.
Mike "Reg" Rowland of the Rugby Club asked if The Falcons could arrange a group parachute drop with the match ball into the home match on Saturday 10th September 1988: Courage Area League South, SRFC vs Southend.
The Falcons took an aerial photograph at 26,000 feet to plot their exact despatch point at 12,000 feet from a Hercules 130 aircraft. With this photo The Falcons plotted their run-in and release point.
The 15-man team deployed chutes at 3,500 feet and landed safely on the pitch, with Alistair then presenting the match ball to Salisbury's 1st XV captain David Murley.
Nearly 35 years later, Alistair returned to the club to present a copy of the photo to David for display in the clubhouse, accompanied by club president Richard Larcombe and BWS teacher Roger Crisp.
