President's Walk - 1st June 2019

You all know by now that Project All Change is our ambitious venture to raise over £500,000 to replace our inadequate, old single sex changing rooms with modern new facilities to allow men, women, boys and girls to enjoy playing rugby.
We are getting close, but not close enough, to our target and we hope to begin the build within the next few weeks. My " Walk for All” is one of the last fund raisers we have so please try to get yourself sponsored and take part. The day has been planned to appeal to whole families from all of the club, reflecting how we hope the new changing rooms will be used.
The longest walk will be about 15 miles from the Club, through Salisbury (New Inn) to Harnham (Old Mill), on to Netherhampton (Victoria and Albert), through Wilton Park (thanks to Lord Pembroke for this), which should look beautiful in June. Then to Wilton (Bear), on to South Newton (Bell) and then over the hill(!) to Woodford (Wheatsheaf) and from there home to the Rugby Club for a celebration BBQ and a few drinks. For families taking part, none of the refreshment stops are compulsory. I just mention them for any walkers who might want to stop for a drink!
Registration will be at the Rugby Club from 9.30am for this long walk to start at 10am. A second short walk (about 5 miles) from the Club to The Wheatsheaf, Woodford and back will start at 1.30pm, registration from 1pm.
However the walk can be joined at any of the stops, so if you don’t want to walk 15 miles, please choose your start point to suit – as a guide, if you join at The Wheatsheaf you will have a walk of about 2.5 miles, say one hour. Or just meet us in Hudson’s Field and walk in with us for the BBQ at about 5pm.
Please come to enjoy the walk but we do need to raise some funds too so please try to get yourself sponsored, or sponsor yourself, or if you aren't walking, please sponsor me or someone else who is walking!

A Sponsor Form is attached, together with a Flyer describing the walk, and copies of both are are also available at the Club. PLEASE REMEMBER to fill in a Gift Aid form when you register.
