U13s enjoy action packed Tour in Devon
The U13 players and their families enjoyed a really action packed Tour to Dartmoor over the early May Bank Holiday weekend.
More than 50 enjoyed the Tour, which was held near Exeter. After meeting on Friday night, the Tour-ists enjoyed mountain biking on the Saturday morning, followed by watching the Exeter Chiefs beat Northampton in the afternoon. Highlight of the match was a spontaneous 'green' sprint across the pitch by the U13s after the match ended. The players were great - talking with the boys and families, and autographs were collected (on paper, Tour sweatshirts and foreheads). A BBQ on the Saturday evening was followed by a Court where various crimes were suitably punished. On Sunday the SRFC team played valiantly at Tavistock RFC in horizontal rain. Tavistock RFC were fantastic hosts, and SRFC enjoyed many games in the clubhouse - including jousting on a wooden horse, darts thrown at balloons and the obligatory drinking games. SRFC may have lost the match, but the junior drinking skills (non alcoholic!) proved successful. Another great tour and everyone's looking forward to next year's.
A big thanks to Eddie (Chief Organiser), Nigel (Quarter Master), Toby (Chef) and Lisa (Hoodie Master).
