Celebrating our Senior Colts
The Colts held a special Social evening at the Club on 20th May - to celebrate our U18 players.
There might not have been an awful lot of rugby this season but that hasn't stopped the Colts from holding a Social at the Club this week. A special trophy went to each of the U18s players to honour their commitment to the Squad, their Club and Rugby through a tremulous couple of years for the Colts. Noah Brown, Tom Trevett, Tristan Donaldson, Will Thompson and George Willoughby will be missed by the rest of the Squad and the Management Team and we wish them well in their future endeavours.
Thank yous were made to Jason Antunovic-Fry, who finished his coaching time with the U17s last year and to Shane Willoughby for his commitment to the U18s age group as 1st Aider and Number 1 Parent Supporter!
But of great significance was the thank you for Ben Brown, who retires from coaching at Salisbury RFC after 17 years. He's coached both his sons through Minis, Youth and Colts, and a little known fact is that Petra Brown also coached the Minis at Salisbury RFC too. Director of Rugby, Russell Jugg, paid tribute to Ben's unstinting dedication to the Club and the boys he has coached over the years.
However, rugby continues for the Colts at Salisbury throughout the summer season and all U18s players are welcome to continue with the squad until mid-August and the next season proper commences.
Julia didn't want me to publish the photo of her - in typically understated fashion. But on behalf of all the parents and coaches, it would be wrong to ignore the HUGE amount of work and commitment Julia shows each year. Without Julia - and her clipboard - the Colts (and parents) wouldn't be in the right place, at the right time, with the right kit. So, thank you!
