Saturday 20th. April 2024: The 1st XV made the short trip to Newbury to contest the quarter-final of the Papa John's Men's Community Cup. Newbury had beaten Salisbury twice during the league season, but the away match in January had been very close. With Salisbury showing much improved form in last weekend's defeat of Reading, hopes were high for an upset.

In perfect Spring conditions Salisbury welcomed Reading to Castle Road in the first round of the Papa John’s Community Cup. The hosts had inflicted two narrow defeats on Reading in the league and they made it three-from-three with a further but more convincing 39 – 12 win.

6th. April 2024 - The 1st XV travelled to Chichester for the final league game of the season. Chichester had visited Salisbury for the season opener back in September, which we narrowly won after a scrappy and low-scoring game.

FAQS

When is training?

Tuesday and Thursday evenings. It begins at 6.45pm with player led skills sessions, We finish before 8.30pm.

Where is training?

Castle Road on the floodlit training area.

What do I need to bring to training?

Appropriate clothing and footwear.
Studded boots and shirts that can cope with contact training. DO NOT wear clothing with zips.
A gumshield.
Water bottles are available but bring your own drink if you wish. NOTE - whilst the changing rooms are being built, shower facilities are available after training in the Hudsons Field pavilion. If you don't wish to shower but do come into the Clubhouse afterwards please ensure you have clean outer clothing.

Can I buy food after training?

Yes. Food is available after both sessions at a cost of £3.00.

Do I need to buy a rugby kit?

Match shirts are provided, but you will need to buy white shorts and green socks to play in matches.

These and other merchandise can be purchased from the Club shop that is open every Sunday morning, or ask at the bar.

Do I need to pay membership to train?

No. But as soon as you start playing you will be asked to register and pay membership.
