Successful Walking Rugby Intro Session - Saturday 9 March

Salisbury hosted an introductory session to Walking Rugby on Saturday and in so doing helped increase this ever-expanding community. Teams from Havant, Romsey, Fordingbridge and Marlborough travelled to Castle Road and enjoyed four training games before reconvening in the bar for England v Ireland.

It was clear that there is plenty of enthusiasm for this non-contact version of the game designed for more senior players. The afternoon also served a perfect preparation for Salisbury’s own festival on Saturday 27 April and Havant RFC became the latest entrant. Salisbury’s festival is set in amongst an exciting series of tournaments coming up this spring and summer:

·        20 April: Dorset & Wilts Festival.

·        27 April: Salisbury.

·        18 May: North Bristol.

·        8 June: Crediton.

·        22 June: Old Guildfordians.

·        13 July: Kingswood (Bristol)

·        10 August: Topsham.

The players' gratitude must go to our volunteer referees; Mo Cooper, Pete King and Pete Rattue without whom no rugby gets played.
