Girls and Colts "graduation game"
On Friday 5th. April we marked the upcoming step into senior grade rugby of our girls' and boys' squads.
The girls took part in a set of mixed age (U16s, U18s and adult) touch rugby sessions. They showed great potential with quick ball, direct running and stepping.
The boys then hosted Trowbridge and although the score was in favour of Salisbury the game was very even with both sides showing some heroic sustained defence, and dynamic and fluid attack.
We have 2 of our girls and about 12 boys who will now move on to Senior rugby wherever they end up in the next stage of their lives. This shows the pathway we at SRFC are trying to build at the club.
Not all will remain in Salisbury but if they do we hope they will bolster our senior men’s squad and one day the girls can move into our ladies team. The future looks bright for this to continue and grow.
Thanks to all the coaches, team managers, first aiders and parents that have got them this far.
