Salisbury 19 - Reading 11

Salisbury welcomed Reading to Castle Road for the home leg of their league fixtures having narrowly beaten them away in November. Both teams sit at the foot of Regional 2 South Central so a win was important. In a largely scrappy encounter, Salisbury prevailed with a single first half try from Theo Andre Browning and two second half tries from James Kennedy on 46 minutes and Rob Crossley with 10 minutes remaining.

Witney 45 - Salisbury 20

Salisbury travelled to Witney on Saturday for the return fixture having inflicted a narrow defeat on them at home back in November. There was a very different result. The host’s superior physical strength and ability to shift the ball quickly to their flanks resulted in a 45 – 20 defeat for Salisbury.

Salisbury hosted the high-flying Jersey boys on Saturday who came into the weekend having only lost one fixture. This was always going to be a tough fixture for the green and whites who were lying 11th out of 12 at the beginning of the match.

Newbury 18 - Salisbury 14

This was always going to be a tough encounter with both teams seeking points to drag them clear of the relegation battle and the visitors were not helped by the late arrival of scrum half Matt Dodkins who suffered a puncture on his way to Newbury. Will Murley moved from the centre into the number nine shirt and, although new to the role, produced a very impressive and tidy performance.  He was helped by the forwards producing clean and quick ball for the first period enabling him to set the back line moving.

Salisbury welcomed Winchester on Saturday for the return leg of their league fixture. The hosts started positively and played with ambition during the first half which was in stark contrast to the second half in which Winchester pulled away to record a 5 – 37 away win.
