A strong SRFC U15 side ran out convincing winners against Sherborne RFC finishing with a 64-5 score line. Carlos Kantolinna crossed the whitewash twice and Sam Waters converted both to take an early 14-0 lead. Sam followed this with a score himself before adding the extra 2 to make it 21-0. The try of the first half followed 2 hard drives by the pack before Alex B released the backs for Harvey Drewett to score in the right hand corner. Sam continued his fine kicking form to make it 28-0 at half time.

The second half continued in the same vein with Aidan Grant scoring almost immediately after the kick-off. SRFC continued to dominate with Harvey scoring his second, followed by tries from Will Thompson and Rory Packwood. Perry Sanderson also grabbed a brace. Sam finished the match with an excellent 7 conversions from 9 attempts before Sherborne scored in the closing minutes…

Well done all – a good squad turnout of 23 with all getting good game time. Ironically, whilst we managed to score a number of points and win convincingly this wasn’t our best performance and we can ‘Go for the Gap’ by focusing on our continual improvement/continuous learning (Buzzword Bingo Alert? - Ed.). With 4 hard games coming up in November, including the next D&W Cup game on the 12th Nov v Devizes RFC there can be no room for complacency!
