The Legendary Fat Blokes On Bikes
2nd. June 2017 - The Legendary Fat Blokes On Bikes set off on their fund-raising ride
The club's Legendary Fat Blokes And Bird On Bikes set off for their annual fund-raising ride. This year they are cycling from Salisbury to Portsmouth for the ferry, then across France to, and finally up, l'Alpe d'Huez.
Their route will take them all the way across France for a total distance of around 600 miles. The final ascent of l'Alpe d'Huez is a famous challenge for the professionals in the Tour de France and its 21 hairpins will test the riders after a week in the saddle.
This year's ride is in memory of our departed friend and club stalwart Mark "Rocky" Rogers. The riders are raising funds for Salisbury District Hospital Stars Appeal. If you would like to contribute, you can do it via ride organiser Neil Tonge's justgiving page.
Bon courage mes braves!
