We are delighted to announce the date of our 2017 Beer and Cider festival which will take place on Friday 12 May and Saturday 13 May. You can be assured that as always our selection of beers and ciders will suit all tastes. This year we again include live music with barbecue food available throughout the event. For those attending on Saturday afternoon there will be an extravaganza of live rugby featuring Vets 7s, Women’s 7s and Walking Rugby. Admission to the beer festival is only £7.50 to cover both days..

Our main sponsor for this event is Blue Bee Solutions. They have also designed and developed this new fresh website. We are very grateful to them for all this work. We also take this opportunity to thank our other sponsors, volunteers and supporters. Special thanks go to the Hop Back Brewery for the provision of equipment, advice and support and also to CAMRA for their advice on the selection of beers. To all our sponsors, players, parents, supporters, and beer and rugby lovers everywhere we look forward to seeing you at this event. Please share it on your social media and bring along your friends as well.

We would encourage and ask local businesses to come on board and support this event with a fantastic better than cost neutral offer that will include significant publicity on this website leading up to the event, and in the programme on the weekend of the festival. Salvation

Salvation
Salvation 3.8% A light refreshing golden beer, with tropical fruit, citrus, and floral flavours. American Cascade and Amarillo hops create a citrus aroma, and crisp clean bitterness on the finish.

Odin

Odin
Odin - The name inspired by the Viking God of warriors and battle. A big name for a small beer, the only connection being that the Vikings were Scandinavian, and Scandinavians are usually blonde! OK so the Vikings might well have had red hair, get over it! A very pale blonde ale. European Noble hops form the basis with three fruity American varieties added late. The lack of any coloured malt allows the late hops to come through clearly in the taste and aroma. Refreshing and light bodied but not thin. Created to meet modern demand - light, hoppy and below 4%. OG 1038 / ABV 3.8%

Zenith

Zenith
Colour Pale Aroma Tropical Fruit Taste Zenith is a reasonably strong IPA, which is light and refreshing in colour and suprisingly morish. It bursts onto the palate with a citrus and tropical body. Inspiration The word zenith is used to describe when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky. This light, bright coloured IPA is brewed for the arrival of Spring and has the highest ABV of all our ales. SPONSORED BY HAINES OPTICIANS

Ilkley Pale

Ilkley Pale
New World Pale Ale 4.2% Award-winning New World pale ale. Crisp and dry, with a zesty and fresh-cut grass aroma. Powerfully hopped for a floral finish. The Sauvignon Blanc of the beer world

Lemon Dream

Lemon Dream
Lemon Dream ABV 4.5% A shimmering golden ale that is brewed using organic lemons which adds beautifully subtle zesty aromas and a citrus filled fruity finish.

Cornish Knocker

Cornish Knocker
Cornish Knocker was Skinner’s first ale. It’s a golden ale brewed with Cornish water; whole-flower Celeia, Northdown and Aurora hops; Cornish malted barley and wheat; and Skinner’s unique yeast. Taste notes The taste of the delicate floral hops trails citrus with a slight pine bitterness and leaves you with a mild biscuit taste (posh ones, not your average digestive). A perfect pairing for shellfish, Thai dishes or a double cheeseburger with fries. SPONSORED BY WHAT NO SAFETY

Kipling

Kipling
Kipling South Pacific Pale Ale Golden blonde beer with an exquisite passionfruit, gooseberry and mango aroma. An initial sweetness and full body are balanced by a lasting grapefruit-like bitter finish. ABV 5.2%

Cwtch

Cwtch
4.6% Cwtch Welsh Red Ale Probably the best word ever. Cwtch (rhymes with butch) can mean either cuddle or cubbyhole. Grab a glass, relax and cwtch up with this untraditional Welsh red ale - a perfect blend of six caramelly malts and three citrussy American hops. It isn’t your average bitter - the hops do more to this deep amber coloured beer than just provide bite. Any old hop can do that! We’ve selected some of the most aromatic and tangy hops from the other side of the pond to give this red a fresh hit that complements the caramel flavours of the malts that gives this beer its colour. Drinkability and balance makes this beer. We love a good Cwtch, and we’re not the only ones… IBU: 50 OG: 1.045(11.5°P) Hops: American Released: May 2012

Marmoset

Marmoset
Marmoset Brewed using 100% Centennial hops which give a fresh floral aroma & flavour with a deep bitter finish.

Beer is evolving, we are too. SPONSORED BY BILL WYATT

Summer Lightening

Summer Lightening
A trendsetter in the brewing industry; the original Summer ale brewed all year round. An extremely pleasant bitter, straw coloured beer with a terrific fresh, hoppy aroma. This, coupled with an intense bitterness, leads to an excellent long, dry finish. Probably the beer to receive the most awards in Britain! Summer Lightning has an ABV of 5% SPONSORED BY LEGENDARY FAT BOYS(AND BIRDS) ON BIKES)

Crop Circle

Crop Circle
A very clean, flaxen-coloured beer with wonderful thirst-quenching properties. The subtle blend of aroma and bittering hops give a crispness on the tongue which is delicately fruity, giving way to some dryness. The inclusion of flaked maize in the grist subtly hints at crisp corn flavours. Crop Circle has an ABV of 4.2%

Minstrel

Minstrel
Hop Back Brewery Minstrel is a golden beer with a relatively new English hop – Minstrel – which gives its’ name. This hop has an orange citrus flavour with herb and spice notes, so a slightly fruity herbal taste is underpinned with a moderate bitterness.
